Anticipated Revenue Increase:

GAME & FISH FUND

19,500

19,500

19,500

Source of Revenue Increase:

Additional youth licenses sold for individuals who had not previously purchased a license.

Assumptions:

Based on information obtained from Texas, who has had the program in place for four years, approximately 11,000 individuals in their state qualified for and purchased a license in 2006 without hunter education.  Wyoming's hunting license holders, based on 2006 figures, are approximately 12% of the number of Texas hunting license holders.  If the same numbers hold in Wyoming, that would equate to approximately 1,300 additional individuals annually who would purchase youth licenses.  Resident youth licenses vary from $15.00 for deer and antelope to $25.00 for elk.  Doe/fawn and cow/calf licenses are slightly less. One day licenses for bird and small game are available for $6.00.  It is anticipated that the majority of licenses purchased would be general deer, doe/fawn or bird/small game.  The $15.00 price was utilized to estimate the increase in revenue from additional license sales.
