Subject:  Authorizes Department of Health to identify medical safety events which hospitals must report.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Current law at W.S. 35-2-912 requires hospitals to report to the Department of Health the occurrence of specified safety-related events.

· This act repeals the list of reportable safety events and grants authority to the Department of Health to adopt a list of reportable events by rule and regulation, using an industry-recognized classification system.
