· Increases salaries for supreme court justices, district court judges and circuit court judges as follows:

o Supreme court – from $119,300 to $126,500 as of July 1, 2008 and to $131,500 as of July 1, 2009;

o District court – from $113,600 to $120,400 as of July 1, 2008 and to $125,200 as of July 1, 2009;

o Circuit court – from $93,200 to $98,800 as of July 1, 2008 and to $102,800 as of July 1, 2009.

· Provides that the legislature may through the budget bill provide further cost of living increases to the statutory salaries and states how those further increases are to be established.
