"(a) Subject to legislative appropriation and in accordance with the provisions of this article, the adjutant general or his designee may authorize a one-time reimbursement of medical and dental malpractice insurance premiums for qualified medical professionals. The maximum malpractice insurance premium reimbursement under the program shall be:
(i) For a qualified medical professional who enters into a two (2) year service contract, the lesser of fifty percent (50%) of the total cost of malpractice insurance premiums paid by the qualified medical professional during the most recent calendar year in the term of the initial service contract required under paragraph (b)(iii) of this section, or a total of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) at the execution of the service contract;
(ii) For a qualified medical professional who enters into a four (4) year service contract, the lesser of one hundred percent (100%) of the total cost of malpractice insurance premiums paid by the qualified medical professional during the most recent calendar year in the term of the initial service contract required under paragraph (b)(iii) of this section, or thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) at the execution of the service contract.".
