Source of Revenue Increase:
The language in this bill would give the Department of Transportation the option of contracting or privatizing the commercial signage on highways. The Department of Transportation estimates annual revenue of $300,000 if it utilizes a bidding process to privatize commercial signage.
Assumptions:
It is expected that the privatization of commercial signage would increase the cost of advertisements from the current $100 fee per sign to a price established by the vendor selected under privatization bid process mentioned above.
Source of Expenditure Decrease:
If privatization or contracted signage was implemented by the Department of Transportation the existing Department costs for signage would no longer be required.
