Source of Revenue Increase:

$100 donations to purchase breast cancer prevention and awareness license plates.

Assumptions:

The Department of Health has no information to determine what the number of special plates would be sold. However, for the purpose of an estimate if 100 plates were sold per year over the 10 year period specified in the bill, $10,000 of revenue would be generated per year.  The bill provides the revenue received from the sale of license plates shall be used for cancer prevention, education, screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Source of Revenue Increase:

A $30.00 per plate fee.

Assumptions:

Assumes that 100 plates will be sold each year to meet the 1,000 plate requirement.  (100 x $30 = $3,000)

Source of Expenditure Increase:

The Department of Transportation estimates that it will cost approximately $2,000 to develop the special license plates and an additional $4,500 to make programming changes in the registration system.

(This cost may be considered an administrative cost but is listed here for consistency.)
