Source of Revenue Decrease:
A loss in revenue for county fees on motor-homes and house trailers.
Assumptions:
1. Motor-homes average weight 10,000 pounds.
2. House trailers average weight 6,000 pounds.
3. Motor-homes and house trailers have at least 4 wheels.
4. 10.35% of registered motor-homes and 14.77% of house trailers were sampled.
5. 3,541 motor-home owners saved money, extreme saving amount on one motor-home $4,793, average savings on motor home ~$253.57.
6. 2,126 motor-home owners would have to pay more, extreme amount on one motor-home $127, average loss ~$61.79.
7. 12,185 house trailer owners saved money, extreme saving amount on one house trailer $2,300, average savings ~$151.73.
8. 21,983 house trailer owners would have to pay more, extreme amount on one house trailer $109, average loss ~$49.80.
9. Breakeven on motor homes was $22,950 (Where the current law and proposed breakeven).
10. Breakeven on house trailers was $14,400 (Where the current law and proposed breakeven).
This bill could encourage the registration of additional motor-homes and house trailers that are not currently registered in Wyoming. This increase in Wyoming registrations could reduce the revenue decreases seen above, but the fiscal impact of those potential additional registrations is unknown.
