Mental injury-workers' compensation.

09LSO-0075.C1

FISCAL NOTE

The fiscal impact is indeterminable due to an unknown number of cases.  The proposed legislation would allow for compensability of the mental-mental category of stress claims and could result in an increase in the number of claims, staffing requirements, procurement of medical documentation, increase hearings, and administrative costs. Given statutory consideration of the mental-mental category there exists an assumption of increased medical and indemnity expenditures, which may impact employer premium base rates.
