FISCAL NOTE

This bill contains an appropriation of $425,000 from the GENERAL FUND to the Department of Health.

Discussion of appropriation:

The appropriation shall be expended for the purpose of establishing seven aging and disability resource centers through the use of competitive grants and contracts.

Additional costs associated with this purpose may be covered to a degree by local community support for a center, the contribution of local funding, or both.

The Department of Health plans to submit a State Plan Amendment to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and, if approved, some of the cost of aging and disability resource services could potentially be covered by federal Medicaid dollars.
