• The act removes specifications for traps and snares from statute and allows the game and fish commission to set those specifications in rules and regulations.

• The act sets check periods for snares and steel-jawed leghold traps and provides for extensions on those time periods to be granted by the game and fish department.

• The act requires landowners who trap or snare wildlife which were not taken lawfully to notify the department as soon as practicably possible after removing the wildlife from the trap or snare.
