Catch Title: Marriage licenses.
Subject: Provides an expiration date for marriage licenses if the marriage is not solemnized within a specified time period.
Summary/Major Elements:
· Under current law, a marriage license does not expire, whether the marriage is solemnized or not.
· This bill would:
· Provide that a marriage license would expire one year from the date the license was issued if the parties have not solemnized the marriage;
· Require that marriage licenses issued by a Wyoming county clerk show the expiration date of the license;
· Require that the parties reapply for a new marriage license if they want to solemnize a marriage after the previous marriage license has expired.
