Summary/Major Elements:

· The act authorizes payment of travel expenses for members of the board of dental examiners, clarifies who may sign vouchers on behalf of the board, authorizes rule making with respect to licensure of dentists, requires passage of exams for licensure of dental hygienists and requires passage of an examination regarding the dental practice act and rules of the board for licensure of dentists.

· The act provides a grace period of three months for failure to renew a dental license.  The act specifies that the grace period is to be applied retroactively to license renewals due on or before December 31, 2008.
