Summary/Major Elements:

· The act formally accepts the transfer of lands from the Bureau of Land Management to be added to the Old South Pass City Historical Preserve.

· The acceptance is contingent on the completion of all acts necessary to comply the requirements of the federal Recreational and Public Purposes Act.

· The act authorizes the department of environmental quality to apply for an abandoned mine land funds grant and expend the funds to pay for remediation costs associated with the lands being transferred.

Comments:

Report Required:  The department of state parks and cultural resources shall report to the joint travel, recreation, wildlife and cultural resources interim committee on or before October 1, 2011 regarding the status of the transfer authorized under the act.
