AN ACT relating to mandatory immunizations for children; providing that mandatory vaccinations shall include a meningococcal meningitis vaccine as specified; providing that the vaccines for children program include a meningococcal meningitis vaccine as specified; and providing for an effective date.

"Section 2.  There is appropriated three hundred thirty-five thousand dollars ($335,000.00) from the  general fund to the department of health.  This appropriation shall be for the period beginning with the effective date of this act and ending June 30, 2012.  This appropriation shall only be expended for the purpose of implementing the meningococcal vaccine program by adding one additional age cohort per year.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, this appropriation shall not be transferred or expended for any other purpose and any unexpended, unobligated funds remaining from this appropriation shall revert as provided by law on June 30, 2012.  This appropriation, on a biennialized basis, shall be included in the department of health's 2013-2014 standard biennial budget request.".
