FISCAL NOTE

This bill is an extension of the existing sales and use tax exemption for purchasers of small wind turbines in Wyoming.  There is no data available to determine how many people will take advantage of this exemption and purchase these small turbines.  I understand that the typical cost of a small turbine is roughly $15,000, so the tax associated with such a purchase is approximately $807 per turbine, based on the statewide average tax rate of 5.38%.
