FISCAL NOTE

No significant non-administrative fiscal impact in fiscal year 2012 through fiscal year 2014.

Due to budget reductions, no new Wyoming students are being admitted to the allopathic medical programs or the dental programs with the benefit of WICHE support.  A few Wyoming students per year are expected to pursue the osteopathic medical programs through WICHE, with state support.

If budget conditions change and historic numbers of Wyoming students are once again admitted to the affected professional programs and choose not to return to Wyoming upon graduation, when fully implemented (approximately FY 2017) this draft legislation could generate an additional $25,000 in annual revenue from student repayments, growing to more than $200,000 in annual revenue over time.  This estimate assumes 1.67 students per year will participate in the affected programs and choose not to return to Wyoming and thus be required to repay the state WICHE support.
