This bill contains an appropriation of $2,000,000 from the GENERAL FUND to the Department of Workforce Services.  This appropriation is effective immediately.

Description of Appropriation:

This legislation would require the development, operation and oversight of a new program.  Funding within the appropriation is sufficient to cover additional expenditures through the end of the biennium. Funding will be used to pay for grants for career and technical education training, pay for initial career readiness training, provide for promotional and technical assistance activities.

Assumptions:

This legislation would increase the number of clients and increase the type of services provided by the Department.  Information provided assumes that the program is not implemented until FY 2012 as no grants can be awarded until adoption of final rules.

Figures provided under 0200 Supportive Services Costs is for the development, operation and oversight of this new program.

Figures provided under 0600 Grant and Aid Payments includes grants for training and payment of career readiness testing.

Figures provided under 0900 Contractual Services and Costs is for promotion of the program and further for development, operation and oversight of this new program.
