Increase in fines for oversized and overweight citations.

 

 

 

Assumptions:

 

  1. Four hundred and twenty seven (427) citations were issued in 2009 for W.S. 31-18-805 (a) for oversize vehicles and associated rule and regulation violations.  Proposed language within this legislation requires at least an additional $100 for each citation for a total of $42,700 each year.
  2. One thousand eighty four (1,084) citations were issued in 2009 for W.S. 31-18-805 (e) for overweight vehicle violations.  Proposed language within this legislation increases each overweight fine category by $100 for each citation for a total of $108,400 each year.
  3. Sum of W.S. 31-18-805 (a) and W.S. 31-18-805 (e) equals an estimated $151,100 each year in additional revenue to the County School Fund in the county of the violation.
