Subject:       Appraisals for execution of judgment liens.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Current law provides that personal property on which a judgment lien is executed shall first be appraised by three disinterested persons.  Fees authorized by statute for those appraisers are limited to $3.00 per day or $1.50 per half day.

· The act provides that a qualified appraiser may also perform the appraisal.  The act additionally provides that qualified appraisers and disinterested persons performing the appraisal shall be paid a reasonable fee.
