Subject:      Appropriation for state archives storage study and development of a state electronic record management system.

 

 

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

       This act appropriates $200,000 to the department of state parks and cultural resources for the purpose of developing and conducting a study of the best practices methodology for document retention and storage.

 

       This act requires the department to coordinate with the state chief information officer to develop a uniform standard of electronic records keeping for all state records. 

 

       A phased approach for implementing the electronic records management system is required to be planned and approved by the chief information officer prior to use of any funds appropriated by this act.  All state agencies are required to participate.
