Catch Title: Feral livestock.
Subject: Amends the definition of feral livestock and provides penalties for repeated refusal to take possession of such animals.
Summary/Major Elements:
· Amends the definition of “feral livestock” to specify that the animal “may or may not be owned by a person.”
· Provides for penalties in the event an owner of feral livestock repeatedly fails to take possession of livestock, including the following:
o Payment for all damage caused by the feral livestock and the cost of gathering, feeding, veterinary services, transportation and other incidental expenses relating to the feral livestock incurred by the Wyoming livestock board; and
o Imposition of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) or both for the first offense, or by imprisonment for not more than one year, a fine of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500), or both for any violation thereafter.
