Summary/Major Elements:

• This act:

o Authorizes the Board of Land Commissioners to convey to the United States Department of Interior three parcels of state land adjacent to or within Grand Teton National Park, including the Snake River Parcel (86.32 acres), the Antelope Flats Parcel (640 acres) and the Kelly Parcel on Gros Ventre Road (640 acres), and the mineral rights on the Jackson Lake Parcel (39.59 acres);

o Requires the conveyances to be in accord with and for the prices previously negotiated in a contract between the Board and the Department, with proceeds deposited into the common school account;

o Authorizes the Board to renegotiate, subject to legislative approval, alternatives to the previously negotiated cash prices, such as acquisition of mineral rights, increases in federal mineral royalties and land exchanges.

Comments:

The authorization to convey the parcels expires on January 5, 2016.
