Enrolled Act No.:  HEJR0001

Chapter No.:       N/A

Prime Sponsor:     Joint Judiciary Interim Committee

Catch Title:       District court commissioners-authority.

Subject:  Constitutional amendment to expand authority of district court commissioners.

Summary/Major Elements:

Under this resolution, a proposed constitutional amendment will be submitted to the voters.

The Wyoming constitution presently only allows a district court commissioner to act if a district court judge is out of the county or if a district court judge is prohibited from hearing a case.

The proposal would amend the constitution to allow district court commissioners to act even if the district court judge is present and even if the district court judge could properly hear the case.
