Catch Title:       State fair.

 

Subject:  Modifies statutory provisions related to the Wyoming State Fair.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·           Requires any person collecting an award at State Fair to provide a complete written history of how the exhibit was produced; previously the law provided this was necessary only if requested.

 

·           Clarifies that the director of the department of agriculture may exercise control over the fairgrounds and is responsible the disbursement of funds related to the operation, as well as the maintenance, of the fair.

 

·           Extends the period for removal of improvements from the land used for state fair in the event the state fair is not held for three (3) consecutive years from three (3) months to twenty-four (24) months. 

 

·           Under current law the director of the department of agriculture is required to send the state fair catalogue to all county clerks in the state.  This act changes that requirement so the director need only make the catalogue available to any person requesting it.

 

·           Clarifies the “board” as noted in the applicable statutes is the “state fair advisory board.”

 

·           Repeals authority of the state fair board to use money appropriated to it to enhance county fair association prizes and awards.
