Catch Title:       Economic analysis.

 

Subject:  Centralized data collection of county economic data by the Department of Administration and Information including the uses of and economic impacts to state and federal surface and mineral lands.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

       Requires the Department of Administration and Information, economic analysis division to establish a uniform data collection system to collect information for all Wyoming counties related to the use of and economic impact to state and federal lands.

       Data elements are to include information related to the development of agriculture, grazing, minerals, timber, water, industrial resources, recreation and energy production.

       Requires publication of the information collected in digest form and updating at least once every three (3) years.

       Requires the division to maintain a central depository of economic, statistical and other data relative to Wyoming counties.  

       Authorizes one full-time employee and one at-will, time limited contract employee to complete the work contemplated.

       Appropriates two-hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000.00) for the full time employee and for purposes of carrying out the act and an additional thirty-four thousand dollars ($34,000.00) for the at-will position. 

 

Comments:

Report Required: No later than January 1, 2013, the department of administration and information must report to the joint agriculture, public and state lands and water resources interim committee and the joint appropriations interim committee.
