Subject:       Amending powers of the Pari-mutuel Commission.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law each employee of a facility holding pari-mutuel events is required to be licensed by the pari-mutuel commission. 

· This act limits the licensing requirement to employees who are directly involved in the horse racing or pari-mutuel wagering activities of a permittee or participant.

· Stewards are authorized by the pari-mutuel commission to rule on the outcome of pari-mutuel events and enforce the rules of the commission at pari-mutuel events.  This act increases the authority of stewards to levy fines up to one thousand dollars.
