Summary/Major Elements:

• This act:

o Requires the State Superintendent of Public Instruction to develop a model protocol and to assist school districts in developing protocols for addressing risks associated with concussions and other head injuries from school athletics;

o Requires school districts to adopt protocols to address risks associated with concussions and other head injuries, to include training of coaches and trainers, restrictions on a student's  participation in athletics after suffering a concussion or head injury and provision of related information to students and parents.
