Summary/Major Elements:

This act:

● Revises current law by changing references from "notary" and "notary public", to "notarial officer".

● Specifies certain acts that notarial officers are authorized to perform including certifying signatures and signing documents.

● Specifies certain unauthorized acts for notarial officers including influencing transactions, executing false certificates, certifying improper documents, and performing any action with the intent to deceive or endorse any document.

● Authorizes notarial officers to charge fees as specified for certain notarial acts.

● Provides definitions used throughout the Wyoming Uniform Law on Notarial Acts.

● Specifies requirements for certain notarial acts and provides that a certificate of a notarial act may be received as presumptive evidence that the document was acknowledged and executed freely and voluntarily as specified.
