FISCAL NOTE

FY 2013

FY 2014

FY 2015

NON-ADMINISTRATIVE IMPACT

Anticipated Revenue Increase:

GENERAL FUND

38,250

40,500

42,750

SPECIAL REVENUE FUND

28,050

29,700

31,350

Source of Revenue Increases:

A fingerprint-processing fee of $50 would be charged to each renewal applicant. In 2011, PTSB processed 2,400 renewal applications.  Of the $50 application fee, PTSB retains $11 (Special Revenue Fund) with the remaining $39 sent to the Attorney General’s Office – Division of Criminal Investigation.  The Attorney Generals Office in turn retains $15 for deposit in the General Fund, with the remainder sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Assumptions:

PTSB has experienced a 5-7% increase in renewal applications each year over the past three years.  PTSB expects the number of renewal applications will continue to increase at this rate for the next several years as we have over 5,000 license and permit holders eligible for renewal every year.  The number of renewal applications in the figures above was increased by around 6% each year to calculate the impact for FY 2013 through FY 2015.  (Renewal Application Estimates:  2013 – 2,550, 2014 – 2,700, 2015 – 2,850)
