Summary/Major Elements: The Department of Workforce Services, Division of Unemployment Insurance, maintains a directory of new hires, as required by federal law, for purposes related to  child support enforcement, employment security and workers' compensation.  This act:

 

·         Amends the employer's reporting requirement, consistent with federal law, by defining "newly hired employee" to mean an individual who has not previously been employed by the employer or was previously employed but has been separated from employment with that employer for at least 60 days.
