(a) The board is authorized to acquire, exchange or sell a fee title in trust lands provided that no acquisition or exchange, except acquisition or exchanges with the federal government or any federal agency, shall result in a net increase of trust lands greater than ten thousand (10,000) acres above the total trust land acreage held on July 1, 1999.
(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section, the board may acquire a fee title interest in trust lands through a single transaction that results in a net increase greater than ten thousand (10,000) acres provided that sales or exchanges are conducted to bring the total trust land acreage within the limitations of subsection (a) of this section within twenty-four (24) months of the acquisition.".

(d) This section shall not apply to any acquisition of land by the transportation commission of Wyoming for road and highway construction or for construction materials.
(e) This section shall not apply to trust lands subject to the provisions of W.S. 36‑2‑111.".
