Grand Total Expenditure:              $100,000

Total Appropriated to Agency:         $100,000

Total Appropriated by Fund

SCHOOL FOUNDATION FUND   :            $100,000

Description of appropriation:

All but 5 percent ($5,000) must be used for repayment of qualifying student loans. The remainder would be used for contractual loan administration fees.

It is assumed that the 0600 Series funding would be tied to the 2014 student cohort, thereby allowing it to be carried over to subsequent bienniums.

Given that tuition and fees would be fully eligible for reimbursement, and program eligibility would only be limited by the willingness of school districts, colleges and UW to limit the number of nomination agreements, the Community College Commission projects that demand for this program would be similar to that of the Veterans Tuition Waiver Program. Expenditures under the Veterans Tuition Waiver Program are presently $200,000 per year. Page 4 of the bill states that loans would be subject to the availability of funds appropriated.
