Source of revenue decrease:

The revenue decrease would arise from the reissuance of elk, deer and moose licenses to hunters that harvest a chronic wasting disease (CWD) positive animal resulting in additional harvest that will reduce license quotas the following year.

Assumptions:

Projected revenue decreases are based on past harvest data, disease prevalence rates per hunt area and cost of licenses by type for 2011.   If all reissued licenses were only valid for reduced price (antlerless) license types, the anticipated maximum revenue decrease is estimated at $64,651.27.  If there were only 50% participation in the reissuance option, the total estimated revenue decrease is estimated at $32,325.64.  Nearly all requests for a license reissue would have to be honored in the subsequent year since most hunting seasons will be closed by the time CWD test results are available to the hunter.
