FISCAL NOTE

 

This bill contains an appropriation of $5,500,000 from the SCHOOL FOUNDATION FUND to the Department of Education. Any additional detail in regard to how the Department of Education will expend this appropriation is not determinable due to insufficient time to complete the fiscal note process.

 

This bill contains an appropriation of $500,000 from the SCHOOL CAP CON ACCOUNT to the School Facilities Department.  This appropriation is effective immediately.

Description of appropriation:

 

The School Facilities Department (SFD) believes the $500,000 appropriated would cover the costs of travel (200 series above) for a task force of approximately 15 members for eight meetings prior to the September 15, 2013 report deadline.  The $20,000 in the effective immediately (900 series) column would cover costs for a safety consultant and travel.  The remaining $420,000 in FY 14 (900) series would cover some of the cost of the physical assessment of statewide school buildings.  Additional costs for this assessment are listed under the Agency Estimate of Administrative Impact.
