This bill contains appropriations of $209,435,959 from the SCHOOL CAP CON ACCOUNT to the School Facilities Department. These appropriations are effective July 1, 2013.

Description of appropriation:

The School Facilities Department (SFD) will work with the Wyoming school districts to move forward on all projects for design, construction, ancillary buildings, track projects, demolition and component level activities.  The SFD will also work with the districts and the School Facilities Commission for land purchases of future school sites.

The table above reflects the anticipated expenditures for FY 2014 and FY 2015. SFD anticipates that $4,934,059 will be expended in FY 2016.

The Capacity Study contracted by the School Facilities Department will be complete by the end of February, 2013 and the data complete, as well. 

The $10 million funding will be used to move forward in planning and design for those districts most in need of additional square footage.

The SFD assumes that the supplemental funding appropriated and planning and design funds given for capacity needs can be handled by existing staff.
