Voter identification.

13LSO-0327.L1

FISCAL NOTE

The fiscal impact, in the form of decreased revenues to the Highway Fund from fees for identification cards, is indeterminable.

This bill provides a waiver of the $10 fee for state issued identification cards for an individual who does not have a valid Wyoming driver’s license, will be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the next election, and is unable to obtain for the purpose of voting any other proof of identity that satisfies the requirements of W.S. 22-3-118(b)(i) as amended in the bill.

Under current statute, applicants pay a $10 fee to the Department of Transportation for the issuance of an identification card.

According to the Secretary of State's Office, this bill would have no fiscal impact at the state level pertaining to voter identification, but may have an impact on counties.
