Summary/Major Elements:

·          This bill makes general revisions throughout Title 11, Chapter 19 of the statutes dealing with contagious and infectious diseases among livestock and other animals in order to update and clarify certain provisions.

·          The bill revises certain penalty provisions related to contagious and infectious diseases among livestock and other animals in order to provide for a uniform penalty consistent with other violations related to livestock.

·          The bill increases the compensation of members of a board of arbitration from five dollars to one hundred dollars for each day.

·          Under existing law, the regulation of importation of animals applied only to livestock.  This bill makes the provisions applicable to other infected animals for the protection of livestock and domestic animals.
