· Clarifies that the perpetrator of a crime must pay restitution to the state if the state compensates the crime victim for costs incurred for long-term care. 

· Requires that when an offender receives a deferred sentence, the court must order the offender to pay restitution to a victim for long-term care.  The restitution requirement must be included in the terms of the offender’s probation.
