Summary/Major Elements:

· Prior to amendment, the law required enrollment projections be based on student enrollment for a period of not less than five (5) years and did not specify when the calculation was to commence.

· This act modifies the methodology for calculation of enrollment projections for school construction, requiring enrollment projections be based on five (5) years of data, commencing on the date anticipated for completion of the facility.

· It continues to require the method utilized for enrollment projections be approved by the school facilities commission.

· Further, the act provides the school facilities commission flexibility to adjust enrollment projections on the basis of historical, economic, social or other data that may impact the community.
