Subject:                     Game hunting licenses.

Summary/Major Elements:

· This act authorizes the game and fish commission to establish a competitive raffle program for big game, trophy game and wild bison licenses.

· This act limits the raffle to no more than two licenses of each species.

· Licenses issued through the raffle for bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goat or grizzly bear shall be counted against any non-resident quota.

· The five-year and lifetime restrictions imposed on receipt of specified licenses do not apply to licenses issued through the raffle.

· No person whose privilege to purchase or possess a hunting license has been suspended may receive a license through the raffle program.

· The act clarifies that participation in the raffle is not gambling otherwise prohibited by law.
