Catch Title: Alcoholic beverages purchases-acceptable identification.
Subject: Acceptable identification for alcohol purchases.
Summary/Major Elements:
· Under current law, the following forms of identification are acceptable when purchasing alcohol:
· A driver’s license issued by any state, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada or Mexico; or
· A permanent resident card issued by the INS;
· An identification card issued to a member of the armed forces; or
· An internationally accepted passport with a date of birth and photo.
· This act eliminates the driver’s license issued from Canada or Mexico from the list.
· This act also requires any form of identification to have a valid picture of the holder.
