Catch Title: Chiropractor licensure-amendments.
Subject: Updates and amendments to chiropractor licensing act.
Summary/Major Elements: This act:
· Amends the definition of chiropractic to allow for referral for advanced diagnostic imaging, venipuncture and acupuncture;
· Increases the board of chiropractic examiners from three to five, to include one member of the public, and provides for payment of daily salary and per diem as for state legislators;
· Authorizes chiropractic interns and preceptors; authorizes temporary licensing of chiropractors licenses in another state;
· Requires that a business providing chiropractor services be owned at least 51% by a licensed chiropractor or family member;
· Streamlines the license application and examination procedure, with authority in the Board to prescribe particular requirements;
· Authorizes use of the term “physician” if used in connection with “chiropractor”;
· Provides for disciplinary actions and appeals to be conducted pursuant to the Wyoming Administrative Procedure Act;
· Provides for the Board to establish continuing education requirements by rule;
· Changes the license renewal date from June 1 to August 1;
· Increases the penalty for practicing chiropractic without a license from $100 to $1,000 and a maximum of one year in jail;
· Repeals obsolete and relocated provisions.
