Catch Title:              Firefighters’ license plates.

Subject:                     Extending authority to have firefighters’ license plates issued to retired firefighters.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Current law allows firefighters and volunteer firefighters to obtain special firefighters’ license plates.

· This act extends that authorization to retired firefighters with at least 10 years of service.

· Statements of eligibility for other firefighters may be signed by the fire chief or his designated assistant.  The statement of eligibility for a retired firefighter may only be signed by the fire chief.
