Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Under current law, the office of consumer advocate may act as a party in any proceeding before the public service commission to represent the interests of Wyoming citizens and all classes of utility customers in matters involving public utilities.

 

·        This act provides that the public service commission may authorize its staff to act as a party in those proceedings if the office of consumer advocate does not intervene in the action.

 

·        This act requires the public service commission to exercise this authority not later than five days following the deadline for intervention.
