Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law, all drivers must keep evidence of financial responsibility with them while driving.  Evidence of financial responsibility is usually made through an identification card issued by the driver’s insurance company.

· This act allows a driver to carry the identification card in an electronic format if the insured and insurer both agree to the issuance of the card in electronic format and the electronic identification card contains the same information required on the physical card.
