Description of appropriation:

Funds will be expended by reimbursing districts for those expenses incurred to equip their buses with internal and external video systems that have not already been reimbursed through the Transportation Reimbursement Collection (WDE103).  Of the approximately 1,500 school buses in operation, roughly 760 buses will need external and internal cameras at a estimated cost of $2,758,800. Additionally, roughly 740 buses already have internal cameras and will need external cameras at an estimated cost of $2,133,420.  Based on the effective date of this bill, we anticipate the majority of expenditures to fall within the 2015 fiscal year.  All expenditures through this appropriation will be through direct reimbursement (600 series) to school districts.

Costs associated with the installation of video system equipment within school buses purchased on and after July 1, 2015 will be reimbursed in accordance with other district covered transportation costs specified under W.S. 21-13-320.
