Source of revenue increase:
Increased used fee.
Assumptions:
These figures are based on 2012-2013 snow season actual permit sales. They reflect the projected increase in revenue from the fee increase portion only and not overall snowmobile revenue which includes other sources such as the snowmobile gas tax. Given that the bill increases average sticker fees by 40%, the totals above reflect the assumption that the number of stickers purchased would decrease by at least 5% during the first year, recovering to previous purchase levels by the second fiscal year. The additional increase in 2016 would again reduce the sticker sales by 5% in the third year.
It is also important to note that these figures do not take into account other more difficult to predict variables that will impact revenue including efforts to increase fee capture, fluctuating gas prices, snow levels and weather.
