FISCAL NOTE

 

This bill contains appropriations totaling $1,500,000 from the GENERAL FUND to the Department of Education.  Of these appropriations, $75,000 is effective immediately.

Description of appropriation:

 

$75,000 will be expended for administrative costs per Section 2(b), which states 5 percent of the total appropriated in Sections 3 and 4 may be used to administer requirements of this bill from the effective date through June 30, 2017.

 

$1,000,000 will be expended for grants (0600 series) as described in Section 4.

 

$425,000 will be expended from the 0900 series for the requirements outlined in Section 3(b)(i) and (ii). This amount will be expended for stipends for participants who help develop and implement the requirements (3-4 meetings FY 2015 and 2016), room rentals for meetings, and professional services contract(s) for expert(s) who can guide work based on requirements.
