FISCAL NOTE
This bill contains an appropriation of $250,000 from the GENERAL FUND to the newly established Lifesaver Program Account within the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH). This appropriation is effective immediately.

Description:
The bill appropriates funds to provide grants to counties for the purchase of equipment and technology for use in locating lost persons diagnosed with dementia related disorders. The WDH is also required to provide outreach and education to law enforcement and families and limits expenditures for these activities to not more than ten percent (10%) of funds within the account.
Assumptions:
The WDH assumes the following: 1) Equal division of funds for each fiscal year of the biennium; 2) All funds are expended in each year; and 3) FY 2014 will end before the Department is able to promulgate rules for the program and will not issue grants in FY 2014.
