FISCAL NOTE

The fiscal impact, in the form of increased revenues to the Game and Fish Fund, is interminable.

Source of revenue increase:

The proposed legislation would allow Game and Fish law enforcement personnel to collect a $10.00 fee associated with conducting vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections on any watercraft trailer if performed contemporaneously with a hull identification number (HIN) inspection or motorboat certificate of number inspection on a watercraft being carried on the trailer.

Assumptions:

The fiscal impact is not determinable due to insufficient data related to the number of HIN inspections historically performed by Game & Fish law enforcement personnel.  Furthermore, of the HIN inspections currently conducted on watercraft, it is not known how many would also require a VIN inspection of the trailer.
